Ganesh – The Hindu god known as The Remover of Obstacles, sometimes called the god of domestic harmony and success. The image pictured here is a seated Ganesh rendered in pewter.

To unite elegance and
utility, and blend the useful with the
agreeable, has ever
been considered a
difficult, but an
honourable task.

--Preface to Hepplewhite’s
Pattern Book

Tattersall Design has been in business since February, 1997, when Boyka Thayer started her own interior design studio. The primary focus of Tattersall Design has been interior design projects for the public sector, but she also maintains an active residential clientele.

Like the image of Ganesh from her office, she likes to view interior design as an opportunity to remove obstacles:

Can’t decide what paint color works best outside or in?
Tattersall Design can help.
Have a tight budget?
Tattersall Design knows how to work with limits.
Need to select a carpet for an office building, a library, or a high school?
Tattersall Design can help with that.
Need to furnish a suite of offices or a whole conference center?
Tattersall Design knows how to do that.

Ms. Thayer candidly admits enthusiasm for her work, and feels the most valuable asset for an interior designer is the ability to listen:
To likes, dislikes, dollar issues, space and functional requirements, and things as practical as a place for the dog to sleep.
